Four Classic XBLA Co-Op Titles get the Backwards Compatibility Treatment

Classic may be taking it a bit far

The drip feed approach to releasing backward compatible games on the Xbox One is like a new form of water torture, but at least it offers a nice surprise as a game you forgot you own pops up on the console.  For co-op fans, four out of the five games released this week are just for you; namely The Cave, Double Dragon Neon, Altered Beast and Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime.

Out of the three, The Cave is probably the most prestigious as this 3 player local co-op adventure title received a handsome 4 out of 5 in our Co-Optimus review.  Rocking up with same 4 out of 5 is Double Dragon Neon, a surprisingly decent take on the Double Dragon legacy that offers the 2 player local and online co-op you would want from the franchise.

Altered Beast roars in and is a classic SEGA title known for it great graphics and massive sprites back in the day.  It also has 2 player local co-op, but if I recall correctly, the game is rock hard. Last up is Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, a more humble affair only receiving 2.5 out of 5.

If these four co-op titles are not enough to whet your appetite, there is also the single player experience Comix Zone doing the rounds.  Overall, a nice bunch to think about buying if a sale pops up.
