Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Launches on Vita with Single System Co-Op

The Vita port of Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions has all the same challenge and neon things as the other versions of the game. Solo adventure mode features 50 challenges with 40 extra stages in ultimate mode. Hardcore mode exists with a core "classic" Geometry Wars feel, including stages inspired by the original game. Simple when you want it, modern and majestic when you need it. Not bad.

Major Geometry Wars 3 Update Arrives This Month

Geometry Wars 3's "Evolved" update will add 40 new Adventure mode stages, complete with new boss encounters and grid layouts. If you had trouble earning the required scores to progress through Adventure mode, the update will rebalance the game's difficulty, making it easier to unlock new stages and modes.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (PS3, PS4, 360, One, PC) - Geometry Wars was a franchise born inside a racing game, but the title has taken on a life of its own seeing releases on XBLA, DS, Wii, and PC. Now the game comes to Sony's platforms for the first time in a full fledged sequel. Can the game retain the charm it held in its simplicity, or will the changes be too much for fans of the series to stand. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions First Look at Co-op Game Types

Just like in the new Adventure Mode, co-op gameplay will have players moving through 10 levels with a number of environment types, game types, and challenges. Each will include their own unique battle mode, with some classic game types like King or Pacifism, and a assortment of new ones such as Infection. These game types can be mastered in Adventure Mode, but it's in co-op mode that true strategy and new dynamics can be found. Optimized for 2 or more players, these stages will be expanded for a wider view of the maps, but will increase the number of enemies spawning on-screen. Whether or not you and your team works as a close unit or separates to conquer up to your ultimate strategy.

You'll be able to get your hands on the game on November 25th if you own a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 or PC (via Steam). Geometry Wars 3: Dimension will also be out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 26th. All platforms are selling the game for $14.99.

Geo Wars 3 is unlike the previous games in the series as it is not just Xbox exclusive, but will also find its way to Sony platforms and PC. The new 4 player co-op mode button is seen briefly in the below Dev Diary, but seeing the word co-op is different from what the Devs have to say; it all sounds a little versus to me.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is being developed by a new studio named Lucid, many of the members of the team are former Bizarre Creations developers - responsible for the original Geometry Wars game. This is good news for fans of the series.
