"Realms" are a new addition to the world of Minecraft and they are basically hosted worlds within Microsoft's cloud. From the menu, you can setup a new Realm by selecting the appropriate choice when creating a new world. You can specify how many users are allowed to join (either 2 or 10) and how long the Realm will be available (30 or 180 days). Once it's created, you can invite friends from the Windows 10 version, any supported mobile device, or even those that are lost in the madness that is virtual reality.

The new face of Minecraft, Jens Bergensten, confirmed a few days ago that the cape will not be craftable by players.  Instead, it must be discovered by way of adventuring.  As per Mojang tradition, the exact steps needed to do so are currently a mystery.  It'll be hitting the game in the 1.9 update, which has yet to be dated.  For a glimpse of the cape in action, check out Jens' tweet below.

Windows Phone, iOS and Android users alike can join in the fun, with up to five players linking to the Windows 10-hosted server for simultaneous play. Updates to Pocket Edition have been released alongside the Windows 10 update, including enhanced weather effects such as snow accumulation and directional rain.

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition is a separate build from the current incarnation of the game, but that carries a few benefits. Online and local multiplayer with owners of Minecraft: Pocket Edition will be possible out of the box, as will controller, touch, and keyboard controls. Also, up to eight players can enjoy co-op play locally or via Xbox Live. That "via Xbox Live" bit is important. Microsoft is gradually merging its various platforms into one gigantic Windows property, so we'll likely see some of the console skin packs and DLC features introduced into the new PC Minecraft.

But wait, there's more! The update adds support for multiple languages, which isn't as sexy as the other features but goes a long way for helping more people jump into the game. In the same category of "boring but useful" features is the new World Edit screen lets you rename saves, change game modes and more. Once you're inside riding on your two player boat, you might encounter baby zombies, bats, cave spiders, spider jockeys, or squid, because they're now in the game! And if you do encounter them, why not throw a snowball or an egg from the comfort of that two seater boat of yours? Aww yeah, Minecraft, baby!
