Override is absolutely a brawler in the same vein as games like Rivals of AetherBrawlhalla, or Super Smash Bros, but it also employs a few mechanics that are common to fighters, such as a super meter. It's the kind of game where you can hop in and run around in a giant mech punching other mechs in the face, or decide that you really want to "git gud" and spend time learning the different intricacies to become a Versus champ. This is the best scenario for any kind of brawler; a game that can accommodate players looking for some smashing fun and some smashing competition.

Override: Mech City Brawler Available Today on PC, PS4, and Xbox OneJason Love

Originally, the title was going to support local co-op only, but the devs have been working to add online functionality to the game. Now you can play with friends both near and far as Override supports four players locally, online, or some combination of the two (i.e., combo co-op). Once everyone sorts out which part of the mech they're going to control (right arm, left arm, legs, or pilot), then you'll all have to work together in order to successfully pilot the thing around and battle against A.I. opponents. You could also battle against another human piloted mech if you wanted some PvP action.

In Override, you pilot a massive robot marching around the city making sure invaders stay away. The catch is instead of pressing left to move left, up to four local players control the four limbs independently. Walking, then, requires at least two people to coordinate their actions, otherwise you're just a big mech flopping on the ground. Missions come your way via Bot Watch, the city's most reliable news source, that informs you of everything that needs to be done. Kitten need rescuing? Watchbot to the rescue. Villain's gigantic insec foe need toppling? Let's go, everyone!
