Resident Evil: Revelations Out On August 29th For PlayStation 4 And Xbox One

In addition to the video, Capcom also let fans know that Nintendo Switch versions of both Revelations 1 and 2 are on their way later this year. To our knowledge, details specific to the games' co-op modes are pretty sparse for the Switch releases, but we'll be keeping tabs on them as time goes on. In the meantime, you can check out the announcement video for PS4 and X1, which shows off the game's upgraded resolution and extra content.

Xbox One/PS4 Versions of Resident Evil: Revelations Coming This Fall

Resident Evil: Revelations follows series darlings Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield through the events that occurred between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. It was originally released back in 2012 on the 3DS with PS3, Xbox360, PC, and WiiU versions following in 2013. This newest version on PS4 and Xbox One will not only run in full 1080p resolution, but will also include all of the previously released Raid Mode DLC for no additional cost.

Resident Evil: Revelations Gets Two New Female Characters

Resident Evil: Revelations was something of a mixed bag for RE fans. On the one hand, it was a "return to roots" in some ways as all the classic design mechanics of the original (like "tank" controls and tight corridors packed with foes) returned. On the other, it was still a modern RE game and that meant some weird plotting and bad voice acting. One of the best features of the game, however, was its Raid mode, which allowed you to team up with a friend and fight your way through missions in order to get money/points so you could upgrade and clear more missions. The mode included the ability to select from a few of the game's more memorable characters, along with some alternative outfits that can be unlocked.

When it first came out for the 3DS, Resident Evil: Revelations was a very well received game. Many Resident Evil fans saw it as a return to the roots of the series. This is due to the fact that the game features tight corridors, low lighting, tank controls, and a very creepy atmosphere. Many of us were very excited to hear Capcom was porting the game to the major consoles as well as PC. This hype is also due to the fact that Capcom has been producing excellent ports lately, particularly with their PC ports of Resident Evil 6 and Devil May Cry.
