Rock of the Dead Xbox 360/PS3 Takes Priority, Wii to Rock Later

At E3 we were shown a cool preview of a game that literally rocks the dead. Rock of the Dead is a co-op title that pits rockers with plastic guitars against the dead - you literally rock the dead. The idea is to "survive" the zombies by playing various notes in the correct order - think House of the Dead only with less guns and more guitar.

UFO Interactive have just sent a fresh batch of zombie face melting screens and trailers for the other rhythm game coming this fall for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. Rock of the Dead features two player co-op in a on rails shooter meets Guitar Hero style game that's all about quick reflexes as much as it is about campy fun. There's even a celebrity voice cast of Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Rob Zombie. The game is out this fall - if you missed our E3 preview, you should check it out.

One of my all time favorite crazy games is Typing of the Dead, a game that blends House of the Dead with Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. Yes, it's crazy - and it's crazy addictive for geeks like myself. Developer Epicenter Games looks to release a spiritual sequel to the genre, with a game that combines Guitar Hero style gameplay with House of the Dead style action. Enter Rock of the Dead.
