The rumors are true, as the PlayStation Blog has officially confirmed Q-Game's Pixel Junk Shooter will be released on December 10th on the PlayStation Network. The two player local co-op game will cost $9.99 and feature slick 1080p visuals.
The co-op mode of the game has players working together to rescue trapped miners, while avoiding having there ships overheat. If a player's ship overheats, the other player can scoop them up like a crane game carnival machine and dip them into water to cool them off.
