Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition Gamescom 2012 Trailer and New Screens

On to Oolacile

A new Dark Souls trailer has invaded our world. A PC version of the dark fantasy game is coming out next Friday. The Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition will include new content in addition to the core game that is already available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The Artorias of the Abyss content will expand upon the grim world of Lordran, offering more areas, bosses, enemies, and gear. The following trailer features several formidable foes, both new and old.

There has been grumbling about the PC version not optimizing all the available settings usually afforded the mouse and keyboard crew. According to Eurogamer, the framerate issues of the console version have been improved, but the resolution is still lacking (i.e. good enough for consoles, but not good enough for PC). If I remember correctly, I could count the FPS in Blighttown on one hand when it got really bad. Personally, I'll take more content over a higher resolution any day. If the framerate issues have been addressed the PC game will most definitely be the superior version (as usual).

Dark Souls supports three player online co-op. The "Prepare to Die" edition will launch on PC on August 24th. The new content from will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as DLC later this winter. Be sure to check out the gallery below for even more Artorias eye candy.
