The Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 3.25.2013

This week on the co-op front we have some handhelds I should have mentioned last week, sorry. We also have some masked mercs and a dose of indie randomness.

3.24.2013

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (3DS)  It's a Pokemon game, which means more money for Nintendo, right? I missed out on this whole trend. I asked DJ, a younger member of the Co-Optimus staff, to sum it up. He tells me it's "rogue-like lite," whatever that means. There are randomly created dungeons and Pokemon. Buy it.  4 player local co-op

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS) DJ tells me this game is a "fun exploration adventure." Jeez, DJ, that's the most generic thing I ever heard. Blind ghosts with a flashlight and then suck them up with a vacuum. Co-op takes place in a separate mode called ScareScraper.  4 player local co-op, 4 player online co-op

3.26.2013

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel (PS3,360) Salem and Rios may have been replaced with Alpha and Bravo, but the Bro-force is strong with this one. Cooperatively open doors, hoist each other to new levels, create matching masks, and flank and kill your enemies. Unleash hell with Overkill mode.  2 player local co-op, 2 player online co-op

Terraria (PSN) It's like a 2D Minecraft with more RPG elements. Of course there's digging. Lots and lots of digging. 4 player local co-op, 8 player online co-op

3.27.2013

Terraria (XBLA) Same as above, less Station, more Box.
