Level Entire Cities in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon

One of the great things about the original EDF was the ability to destroy everything in your path as you attempted to save the word from the alien invasion.  Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon looks to continue the trend as the latest media for the game showcases plenty of collateral damage to our metropolises.

We've got two new videos and a handful of new screenshots straight from the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game.

Visually it's easy to see the step up the sequel has, the game is ripe with richly detailed textures and colors - something the first game was mostly devoid of.  Equipment wise we see some goodies including a jetpack, a placeable turret, and of course plenty of vehicles to smash the monstrous bugs to pieces with.

EDF: Insect Armageddon is planned to come out next year with a three player co-op campaign and a six player co-op survival mode.  Update your home owners insurance now, because your house is most likely the next casualty of war.
