Blizzard Redesigns Diablo Immortal's Legendary Crests

Blizzard redesigns legendary Chests Emblems for paying Diablo Immortal Account owners to help them differentiate between the different chests.

Ready your pitchforks, Summoner.

Diablo Immortal Account owners may not have noticed the differences between the Legendary Crests as they have the same look. The two types of Legendary Crests, which are the Legendary Crests and Eternal Legendary Crests, are items used to up your chances of acquiring Legendary Gems and Runes for creating Legendary Gems. These two Diablo Immortal items are used before entering the Elder Rift. A repeatable Challenge area with different difficulties where players would fight mobs until completing the rift. The Elder Rift also provides a leaderboard system to climb up on for every tier you pass. The rewards here are similar to loot boxes, giving drops of gems and runes.

What is Diablo Immortal Legendary Crests

Blizzard took note of this issue and has made a visual redesign of the Legendary Crests to help players differentiate them from the eternal legendary crests. They addressed the concerns that purchasing crests requires trading-in gems or the crests themselves with real-life money. Players felt misled into purchasing Eternal Legendary Crests instead or vice versa, believing they bought eternal crests when it is a Standard Legendary Crest that only drops bound gems instead of the tradeable gems.

Legendary Items in Diablo Immortal

Gems are in-game items that enhance your gear to improve your stats. Diablo Immortal Items like; helms, chest armor, pauldrons, leg armor, weapons, accessories, and shields. There are six Legendary Gem slots for each piece of equipment, but you cannot equip the same type of gem on a single piece.

There are two types of gems to remember: unbound gems or tradeable gems. They can be identified by the Market Icon on the top left corner when you check your inventory screen, while bound gems have no icon. Additionally, unbound gems can be sold on the Market, unlike the standard bound gems cannot. Players can also craft their gems by finding the Apprentice Jeweler in Rakkis Place or all camps in every domain.

Lead designer Wyatt Cheng created a Reddit post that reveals the new design for the Standard Legendary Crest. The new icon artwork has an orange look, and a distinct shape to keep it from looking like an Eternal Legendary Crest design will keep the current purple look. The update works in favor of the players, as the shapes can also help those with color blindness look very different from the others. Another addition to the update would be the market icon item description that provides details about what a player would purchase before they press that buy button. When entering the Elder Rift, the UI will provide options to choose between the two types of crests and see how many you own. Here is the section taken from the post itself.

Cheng also mentioned in the same post that Blizzard had usability tests to make sure that the changes that have been applied are working effectively. With the changes being applied to the Diablo Immortal game, players can quickly tell the difference between the two Crests. This minor detail change makes a significant impact, which proves that developers such as Blizzard care for their players and are focused on not just making video games but providing a user-friendly experience. With Blizzard addressing all the minor details, adventurers want them to improve.

Many Reddit users who play the game are thankful for the update despite the number of concerns still in the air about Legendary Crests. A Reddit user mentioned that this in-game item is too hard to come by and wished there could be at least one free Eternal Crest for daily login to increase the chances of getting a better gem. Almost like a gacha game system for those who cannot spend much or free-to-play players as they are at a significant disadvantage against those who are more than willing to pay. However, this would be more of the game's microtransaction concern rather than being related to the redesign.

A new battle pass has been included, and the new season has been called Scions of the Storm with Storm-themed cosmetics for adventurers willing to pay and complete the new pass. A new addition to the game would be the option to trade Diablo Immortal Platinum for Crests, and the amount of Eternal Orbs has been increased when purchasing it in the store with real money.
