50 Cent Game Picked up By THQ, Rap War Can Ensue

Oh dear, Co-Optimus.com has gone all thug this morning. First Soulja Boy and now 50 Cent? Yes my find friend, all in the great name of co-op. According to Kotaku, the co-op friendly 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand has been picked up by games publisher THQ. There's no word on a release date or a status, in fact there hasn't even been an official announcement, but we'll keep our eyes close to the blinding desert on this one.
The game is set to come out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a gameplay style similar to Gears of War, but instead of Chainsaw guns you have Chainsaw Microphones. Ok, I made that last part up. But seriously the impressions have been favorable of this game so far, and despite the ridiculous nature of it's story (50 Cent and Gang Saving the Persian Gulf) we were disappointed to hear that the game may have gotten canned.
It looks like 50 is back in da club. This trailer is proof.

It's strange that something with the 50 cent name attached seems to be a nice little departure from the mainstream shooters.
I hold out hope that this one will not suck.
