Gears 2 Co-Op "Horde Mode" is the Most Popular Online Mode

If you've read our Gears of War 2 review, you know we love the five player co-op Horde mode.  Well guess what?  We aren't the only ones.  In fact, despite the competitive nature of Gears of War the folks have Epic have revealed that Horde is in fact the most popular online mode.

There's been over 3 million public matches played so far, and the majority of those are co-op Horde matches.  Most likely played on the River map, the game's most popular multiplayer map.  And those numbers don't even include players private matches, which is the only way we've been playing Horde around Co-Optimus HQ.  More proof that co-op gaming is on the rise.

I've skipped playing GoW2 because GoW1 wasn't my thing. But hopefully they evolve the 3rd into a coop dream because of the success of the horde mode and maybe then I'll get back into the gears universe. On a negative note, I can't stand the mass invite button that people use on my friends list, I get about 3-4 an hour when I'm playing another game.

Get new friends. Just kidding. I have this one guy on my list that keeps inviting me. I keep thinking he wants to co-op with me, but then I realize what he did

On another note, I thoroughly enjoyed Gears 2. I felt that it was better than Gears 1 story wise.

Haven't played Gears yet, but the Horde Mode is very much appealing to me.
