Observing Co-Op - January 19th, 2009
Good afternoon, forum readers (and good morning to overseas readers)!
A quick blurb for you to you ponder and peruse:
No matter your moral or political views, our world is full of interesting and impactful history, and history is constantly being made. Today, the U.S.A. observes Martin Luther King day; it’s a federal and bank holiday of remembrance, and – for some lucky punks –
a day off of work.
In 1963, the man for which this holiday is named spoke to an estimated quarter of a million people of varied ages and backgrounds. They were all there for one reason: to support the Constitutional statement that all men are created equal.
What does today mean for gamers? For many, it means extra game time.
For Co-Optimus, it means a chance to yet again promote cooperation in all aspects of our lives. Today, we welcome our first female staff member,
Katrina! We’re looking forward to seeing a fresh perspective. And today – being no exception – we celebrate our love for the co-op video game, wherein we set aside our differences for a greater common good: the enjoyment of our hobby minus the distraction of petty competition.
When you get an e-mail chain letter today, pass it on with a link to
Co-Optimus. Where people are involved in vicious debate at your favorite “news” sites and political blogs, enlighten them with a shameless announcement to visit the video game site where we are all indeed equal (except Nick – his Gamerscore is just disgusting).
Have a great week, Co-Optimers, and an even better weekend!
