Left 4 Dead - Air

Left 4 Dead - Air

Background: Fight together...or die alone. A new and highly virulent strain of the rabies virus emerges and spreads through the human population with frightening speed. The pandemic's victims become grotesquely disfigured, wildly violent psychopaths, attacking the uninfected on sight. One of the "lucky" few apparently immune to the sickness, you, unfortunately, are also trapped in a city crawling with thousands of the bloodthirsty Infacted. Together with a handful of fellow Survivors, you must fight your way to safety or die alone. A co-operative multiplayer action game from the makers of "Counter-Strike," Left 4 Dead is built atop the most advanced version of the Source Engine and introduces version 2 of Turtle Rock's artificial intelligence (A.I.) technology. This one's an interesting title. If you like fast paced action that doesn't really stop or add a safe place to rest, you'll love this game. If you wanting thinking or strategy, keep looking. You have a few options for strategy here, but it's largely trying to use the game against itself when you try to get through the levels.

I found it brutally difficult on the hardest difficulty. So much so that I don't like it and haven't completed a single mission in that mode. For me the game is only really enjoyable with people you like to co-op with, though the AI is pretty decent. The versus mode is very enjoyable. For me a 4 out of 5, though I'm likely trading my copy in soon as its just not my style of game.

L4D is a really unique experience, trying to take the traditional replayability of Valve's multiplayer versus games and create a similar experience for co-op gaming. It works extremely well, with four players feeling like they have to work together to survive each scenario.

It's definitely built to play with others. If you try it by yourself, you may seriously wonder what people see in this game. But once you've got a friend or three with you, screaming for help when they get jumped by a monster, you'll get it. This game is all about the experience of playing with others.

Along with the fun and challenging Co-Op mode matching tactics against the Director AI, there is a Versus mode that allows everyone to play as humans and special-infected. The tactical complexity and adrenaline-inducing action make this a joyous team-play experience to share with/against friends and strangers alike.

Hey, I am an "anonymous" gamer who is over 40 and posted on 12.12.2008 talking about HND, GR, etc.

You are "anonymous" 11.20.2008 who is over 40. We seem to have a lot in common. Where have you been all my life? Were we separated @ birth?

Why don't you join us, old-timer. Learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi. Let me introduce you to the Nostromo N52TE--it is not as clumsy and random as a joystick. It is an elegant peripheral for a more civilized age.

Call me--I am always looking for another old fart to play with. I am a grey halo.

Just a good zombie game! Boring in singleplayer-mode, but addictive in coop-mode.
