I'd still recommend this game for co-op play despite not having a true campaign co-op mode (which is my biggest gripe with the game.) But online wise, this game beats out the first one since you and a friend can go play online in team death match. Plus the "co-op" mode that is available is pretty addicting since you can level your characters up and gain abilities and items. It makes it RPG like and addicting but a campaign co-op would've made the gaME GREAT.

Yup, bad, bad, bad. After RFOM, I was really looking forward to R2.

I look for co-op games where 2+ people can play through the story locally on the same console.

But with R2, co-op play really felt like an afterthought. I am sorry I bought this game!

Offline co-op was terrible. Don't waste your time - I did it for you.

How about an update to R2 adding the same co-op mode as found in R1????

I also found it disappointing that I could not play the storyline in split screen. What a waste!

I to like it when you and a friend could play story mode with co-op. Me and my friend beat the the first resistance game together in story mode. I was VERY VERY! ANGRY! That the both of us can't do the same with R2 story mode. That SUCKS!!! They should make more games in co-op in story mode it is more fun that way!

I don't know what everyone's problem is. I too enjoyed the co-op story line and miss it. But the game is structured differently now. I just love the 8 player co-op. The only problem is with some of the people online. I end up always playing the medic because I can't trust people to heal me when needed. Good game, but to be honest I have not touched the campaign yet. It has been all co-op... and a little competitive.

I totally agree with the previous posts. This sucks if you want to play two player with a friend. No story with 2 player offline, and you cannot continue the game so each time you die, that's it. Start again from a random spot again. Meaningless and very dissapointing.
