The Co-Op Experience

Players can use two controllers to simulate the twin stick shooter experience of the arcade shmup. Multi-tap is required for both players to use two controllers in this fashion.

Description

A port of the two-fisted shooter with cash, prizes and loads of violence. To approximate the dual-stick control of the arcade game, Probe allowed players to use two NES controllers at the same time -- one for movement and one for shooting aim. It was awkward on players' hands, but it worked, and with the NES 4-Score multitap, two-player gaming was also possible. The game features two game show contestants who have to shoot their way through hordes of mutants. Players make their way from soundstage to soundstage throughout the studio, squaring off against the most powerful metal beasts the network could round up. Use six devastating weapons which are activated via pick-ups. Smash TV features more than 45 levels of carnage, with bonus stages and fierce boss battles before the contestants can claim the big prize.
