Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is all about the ride, not the destination. The overall story takes a complete backseat to the fun of fighting through terrorists with a friend. Each level is superbly designed and the game never feels like you're just slogging through enemies because the developer wanted to kill some time. The kind of pseudo-RPG elements (raising in rank and unlocking equipment over time), ends up adding an rather addictive feature to the game. You have an overall rank plus ranks in different kinds of combat (shooting, close quarters and explosives). At first I had thought these were kind of goofy, but quickly my wife and I found ourselves going for particular styles of kills to raise our ranks in particular combat areas. Besides the campaign, there are also additional coop missions like Terrorist Hunts that challenge players to clear maps of all enemies. The hunts ended up expanding our time with R6V2 by a couple of weeks. It's a definite buy for coop fans or FPS fans.
