I finished SR2 last night and really enjoyed the experience. I don't care for the over-the-top "gangsta" lifestyle presented in the game, but it was still very enjoyable.

I want to say first that I ONLY played missions and activities in co-op. This nets you a few extra achievements, but also makes the game that much more enjoyable. Tackling the missions in co-op gives you a reprieve from death: upon taking too much damage, you collapse giving your co-op partner 30 seconds to revive you. This is done by walking over the downed partner an pressing Y, at which point you'll pour a 40 of (presumably) malt liquor out and revive your buddy.

The activities I've mentioned are almost minigames, side quests almost. One is Fuzz, a take-off on the TV show Cops. Your task is to "apprehend" (read: kill) suspects while a camera crew films you. Doing so gives you a reward at level 3 and 6, 6 being the final level for any activity. These rewards can be massive, such as unlocking a special weapon at level 3 then infinite ammo for it at level 6. This is a HUGE help for the missions!! Doing these activities in co-op is makes it much better too.

I found the driving/flying/shooting mechanics to be much in the vein of GTA, though easier to use. There is a wide variety of vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles, helicopters, airplanes, and a few bonus surprises too. You can customize them to an extent in the mechanic shop, though the results aren't too spectacular.

All in all this is a solid co-op title with plenty to do in single player as well. Drop in, drop out co-op play makes it easy to switch back and forth as you like. I rate it 8 out of 10.

The game starts you off during an escape from prison for which afterwards you’re left with the rebuilding of the Saints Row game. The game goes from there are you make your rise to the top and topple 4 or 5 gangs and their neighborhoods. To play some missions you have to have a certain level of respect which you can earn by upping your style points by buying cars, clothing, or gang hideout upgrades. You can also earn respect
through some mini games like drug trafficking, fight club, demolition derby, or getting a lot of killing done. Each gang, civilian, and cop have their own meters on how many you killed and I believe you get upped a respect level each time you max the circle. You can purchase guns and ammo from various stores to up your firepower along the way.

The way you get money is all the side jobs you can do like the chop shops setup all over town that have lists of cars that are wanted. Through the game as playing along you will be prompted to get the car to the chop shop if its wanted or you can go hunt them down as they give you the areas their likely to be in on the list. If you complete a chop shop list you get a bonus. There is also hit man spots throughout town where you can get lists of people that need to disappear as well as some details like locations or steps needed to bring them out. Things like this by themselves are worth the price of admission but Saints doesn’t stop there. When you get rid of a gang from a neighborhood you can by houses from and there is also the stores and various shops to be purchased as well. If you buy the whole line of clothing chains you get a percentage of the gear your styling. If you buy a whole chain of gun shops you get discounts on that as well. If you complete demolition derby challenges you get a percentage off repair and auto shops.

That’s the other thing, the rpg attributes in the game are so fun to build up. There is customization of your cars, your gang(you can have ninjas!), your person itself can go to the plastic surgeon and have a sex change if you want. The clothing can be adjusted in pattern and how you wear it. You can get a variety of tattoos from different shops since each one has different stuff as with the clothing shops as well. You can buy different tunes for your listening pleasure. The cars can have paint jobs, rims, nitrous, spoilers, as well as a whole lot more done to them. Once customized you can drop the car off and store it for access from any of your pads. Once you purchase some shops and own a hood
You then start collecting money in your safe like monopoly, 200 a day from here 1000 from here it adds up and you can use it to buy a penthouse with a helo pad since you’re tired of parking it on the lawn. The game is endless in the amount of mini games that are so fun as well as the missions themselves.

Some missions require you to shoot a mini gun from a helicopter, or take out some people in a ride as you drive your friend has to be the one to take the driver out. The levels do have a co-op sense and the whole stick together mentality works as if you get in hot water you want some backup to help and a person there to revive you if you do fall.

The game is a must have, they have a limited edition that has 2 copies, For the guy with a splitscreen desire I have been there man, you and your wife will love this its worth buying another setup for it alone. There are plenty of good tactical coop games like r6 Vegas 2 and GRAW 2 but there is only one sand box game that does co-op like this. The game is epic, I have completed it once after 80 hours of messing around and we just started it from the beginning again.

well, this game was bad ass, the saints row 1 and 2 are basically a generic version of gta san andreas, but hell of a lot better, this game was prolly one of the best games i played in my opinion

it sucks it says offline co-op but i cant seem to find the offline co-op anywhere in the game. my friend said it was and that it was in a building near where you start the game (after you break out of prison)

Well the game box says there's local Co-op with the word Co-op 2 in green, meaning local, or is this that System Link BS? I hate the fact that there's not split screen... :(

You would think they would patch the USB port stuff.. Its just silly to have to unplug stuff that you usually just leave plugged
Yeah but I think it would still be cool!
