This is just ridiculous, frenetic fun. If you enjoy dual analog shooters in the slightest, you'll have fun. Rocks, ships, bullets, plasma, fire, explosions all around as you weave your spaceship through it all to survive. If you've never tried a game like this, jump in, there's a pretty good chance you'll like it. The premise is pretty simple, you circle a planet destroying any asteroids and spaceships that get in your way. You upgrade and cycle through weapons, as each enemy is vulnerable to a particular weapon. As with a lot of dual analog shooters, it becomes quite easy to get lost in the hordes of enemies blowing up around you and with a partner, everything can become an even greater mess. But I think that's part of the fun: somehow escaping the giant fireworks show of death and destruction unscathed.

We did find splitscreen to be the better experience. In the single screen coop mode, it's possible to drag your partner to their death if you both end up on opposite ends of the screen. But, to do splitscreen, you do have to buy the multiplayer expansion pack. It's worth it if you plan on playing coop.
