Note: You are unable to save progress while playing in Split Screen co-op.

Yes, they word it as just grey enough that it sounds like 4 can play offline.. I too bought another controller. They know they are increasing their sales and guess what ..don't care...typical. If Activision is LISTENING ...be clear coop is 2 player offline (important detail)ALL NEW 4 PLAYER CO-OP is online only!!! Be direct and CLEAR.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed that you can't actually play four player co-op on the campaign. The box sure led us to believe we could. It's really just another FPS.

Playstation 3 are marketing the whole online thing now and have unfortunatley appear to have "cast aside" good old fashioned offline 4 player.
Personally I would much rather play offline 4 player with my friends rather than online with some anonymous fat guys that I don't know.

The ps3 version (maybe others?) of split screen coop has a serious flaw, aside from not being able to save your progress. The "split screen" is not split 50/50! both players views really use about 35 to 40% of the screen! some crappy background is used to fill in space on the screen that is not used for PLAYING! don't know what happened here. It's not like this in the multiplayer mode, however. Hoping for a fix through an updated...

i say booo, just because my friends and i were waiting for ever for controllers to play 4 players offline and as soon as we got them we got everything ready and all a sudden we're disappointed because WE CAN'T FIND A 4 PLAYER MODE ON THE ****ING OFFLINE GAME.... it's too hard to beat and we really don't know anyone else who has this game to play online with. sorry but it's just another addicting game that disappoints. paying for controllers that we can't even use now. WASTE OF MONEY PPL!
