I had some misgivings with Borderlands. I really want to see a multiplayer Fallout/Oblivion type of game and Borderlands is providing the infrastructure of what I'm looking for, however the video game conventions move away from the "serious" RPG setting I want to see.

However, once I let go of needing that serious angle and settled into Borderlands on its own it has grown on me and been a very enjoyable ride for me and my wife. I'd still like to see a game that has the serious immersion of a Bethesda Softworks type game, but with the multiplayer component that Borderlands provides, but this is still fun.

The only other flaw I'm having with the game is that there is no split screen with network. I have to choose between playing with my wife, or an old friend, and not both at the same time. If that feature was present then the game would get a 5 out of 5 for me, right now it's a 4 out of 5.

insanely fun, addictive, and well worth the cash. If you only have one xbox buy another just so you dont have to share screens. This game is a pure high mixed with nice strategy.

Hints:

repairing the robots get you more weapon slots

elemental artifacts are used for you ability(like turret or bird attacks)

Get the network up( top left exit from firestone after you complete enough things) so you can teleport between towns.

up the ante on your ammo carry in health machines(they have different ones through out)

pay attention to deal of the days in all the machines.

class mods help you in various ways

find a health regeneration shield, they are more helpful that some of the other more expensive ones.

host with the lowest level user so they guy is able to play the same missions and collect exp.

acid radioactive guns hurt armor enemies the most.

colors of the guns matter orange is supposedly the best but sometimes a cheaper gun will work for you better so try everything.

Watch the time or you end up not sleeping for a day or so.
