The Campaign is only slightly open-ended, but as an FPS at heart, this isn't really a problem. The combat remains solid, as it has in all Halo titles.

Firefight is where the fun really starts. Grab a friend or three, and set aside a few hours for an endless onslaught of Covenant forces which are gradually upgraded. For those who are trying for Heroic Vidmaster, remember to stay on the offensive as much as possible, no matter how many skulls are turned on, and learn exactly what each weapon is effective against.

The only problem I found with the game is that while ODSTs are indeed weaker than a Spartan in this game, the difference is not significant enough to warrant a change of playstyle. Whatever you were doing as a Spartan, you can do here, apart from driving Wraiths and dual wielding.
