Extra Life Game Day is right around the corner! On November 7th, the Co-Optimus Team will join thousands of gamers across the US and Canada to celebrate our fundraising progress and make one final, united push to raise even more money for kids in need. Whether you're a longtime supporter or just discovering Extra Life, we'd love to have you join us! We welcome new team members, donations of any amount, and, of course, your company in Twitch chat while we spend the day playing co-op games. It's a great excuse to hang out, play some games, and make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
Perhaps you're new here and wondering what Extra Life is all about. Well, let me explain! Extra Life is a charity founded by gamers, for the benefit of Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals throughout the US and Canada. When participants sign up, they choose a CMN hospital to support, whether it's their local children's hospital or one that holds a special place in their heart. Donations raised through Extra Life go directly to the hospital selected by each fundraiser. These funds help hospitals address their most pressing needs, from purchasing life-saving medical equipment and supporting research to providing resources that make hospital stays a little easier for young patients and their families. That can even mean helping families with nearby lodging so they can stay close to their children during treatment.

Why does this matter? Because every child deserves access to the care they need, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Children's hospitals do so much more than treat illnesses and injuries. They care for children facing serious and sometimes life-threatening conditions, support families through incredibly difficult moments, and work to give young patients the best possible chance at a healthy future. Donations help these hospitals provide specialized care, invest in better treatments, and meet needs that might otherwise go unmet. Even a small contribution can help make a difference, and when thousands of gamers come together, those individual donations can add up to something truly meaningful.
Supporting Extra Life is also a way for our gaming community to turn something we love into something that helps others. Gaming brings people together, builds friendships, and gives us a shared passion—and Extra Life lets us use that passion for a good cause. You don't have to be a hardcore gamer or make a huge donation to participate. You can join our team, spread the word, watch the stream, cheer us on in chat, or donate whatever you can comfortably afford. Every bit of support helps us bring a little more hope to kids and families who need it.
While our fundraising numbers have been down over the past few years, I'm still incredibly proud to say that this is our 15th year participating in Extra Life! Since 2012, the Co-Optimus Team has raised an amazing $26,212.81. That's not bad for a small team! Every dollar represents someone in our community taking the time to support a cause that matters, and I'm grateful to everyone who has donated, participated, or helped spread the word over the years.
We're committed to keeping this tradition alive for as long as we can, and we hope you'll help us continue making a difference. If you're able, please consider donating through the Co-Optimus Extra Life team page. No donation is too small, and every contribution helps support the children and families served by our chosen CMN hospital.
And if you can't donate, that's absolutely fine—we'd still love to see you! Stop by our Twitch stream on November 7th to hang out, chat, and watch us play co-op games for most of the day. Come say hello, cheer us on, and enjoy some gaming with the community.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Here's to 15 years of gaming for a great cause, and hopefully many more to come. Let's make this year's Game Day a good one!
