The original Gears of War is still the cream of the crop in terms of co-op. Integrated story, drop in/drop out, branching paths and more make it the cooperative game every video game should want to be. So it comes as no surprise that the expectations are high for Gears of War 2's offering.
We do know a little bit so far, namely the game will retain all the co-op features of the original, as well as different difficulty settings for each player. What we don't know, and what everyone wants to know is, does the new Gears support 4 player co-op?
There's a recent Gamespot interview in which Cliff Bleszinski talks about some upcoming features. Around the 4:15 mark it sounds like he says "drop in, drop out support, different difficulty modes, 4 co-op players." Don't get your hopes up though, upon further review what he really says is "drop in, drop out support, different difficulty modes for co-op players."
So no, there was no slip up. No official confirmation of 4 player co-op. Come on Epic...throw us a friggin bone here! We need to know if we can take down some locusts this fall in a pack of 4 cogs!
