The next game in the PixelJunk series from Q-Games is right around the corner, titles PixelJunk SideScroller the two player co-op game has its roots in shoot em ups from days gone by like R-Type, Raiden, and others. The PSN exclusive game is out on October 25th though a price wasn't given.
As you noticed from the screens, Q-Games has made the game feel incredibly retro by styling the display like an old CRT arcade cabinet, complete with curved and tapered edges. The game's graphics are vector based creating a bright yet slick looking style that'll be great on your HDTV. It's new hotness retro.
While the previous PixelJunk games, Shooter 1 and 2, offered more strategy, SideScroller is more action oriented though we are promised some borrowed mechanics from the previous titles. PixelJunk SideScroller features two player local co-op throughout the game.
