Two players team up locally to prevent the Romans from conquering all of Britain
Wulverblade is a spiritual successor to the classic Golden Axe that is set in ancient Roman Britain. It’s an HD 2D side scrolling hack’n’slasher/beatem-up that is planning to rejuvenate this lost and beloved arcade genre. The aim is to bring back the glory days of the side scroller, where games such as Golden Axe and Final Fight owned the hearts of beatem-up fans around the world. A deep and robust classically inspired combat system will empower the player as they hack and slash their way through 8 expansive and varied levels.
Set in Britannia circa AD 120 during the Roman invasion, Wulverblade is stooped in rich British history which forms the backbone of the game. Historical fact, historical theory and amazing ancient British folklore are mixed together to create a breath-taking and highly involving plot that underpins the roots of the game and its incredible features.
You play the role of Caradoc, a Caledonian tribal warrior and guardian of the most northerly tribes of Britannia. The Romans have invaded Britain and conquered all that lies before them… until now. The Empire of Rome is about to set forth on a campaign to take control of the north of Britannia and quash the last remaining tribes occupying these lands. It is your task to ensure this never happens.
