Tick Tock: A Tale for Two is a unique co-op experience. Two players are required to play through the entire story. The game itself, however, only runs locally on your device of choice and does not connect to anything else; no Internet connection is required. To play cooperatively, two players need to own their copies of the game on two separate devices.
In order to play with another person, one person chooses to play as "player 1" and the other as "player 2." The two players need to communicate to one another what they are seeing on their device, as this will contain clues to solve puzzles in the other players' game. These players can be in the same room playing on different devices, or anywhere around the world, as long as they have a way to communicate (e.g., via a phone call or some voice chat service such as Discord). Thus "local/couch" co-op is supported, as well as "online" co-op.
In Tick Tock: A Tale for Two you and your friend find yourself trapped in an eerie world created by the skillful clockmaker Amalie Ravn. Your mission is to escape! But to do so you need to navigate a mysterious, sinister clockwork world filled with secrets and cryptic puzzles.
To find the truth and ultimately escape this place, you must combine the information on both players’ screens. Prepare yourselves for a narrative adventure where your communication skills are put to the test. Shout out instructions, discuss what you see, and listen. But remember: time is ticking.
