Help fund this collection of all three Caveman Ninja Super NES games for modern platforms.

The Joe & Mac Retro Collection Kickstarter Is Live, Collection Coming to Current-Gen Platforms

Data East's classic arcade game, Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, was recently delisted from consoles and Steam due to expired licenses. New Joe & Mac is still available, but that's a full remake rather than a truly classic experience. Thankfully, French publisher Red Art Games (publisher of Sonic Wings Reunion) is on the case. They h...

A cyberspace world with online co-op awaits.

Free-to-Play JRPG 'Etheria: Restart' to Launch on PC on June 5

The concept of free to play RPGs might sound a little weird, but sometimes it works. Etheria: Restart is an upcoming JRPG that draws inspiration from Genshin Impact and similar games and takes the fight to cyberspace. It will feature several modes, including a 2-player online co-op mode called "Phantom Theater." The PC version of Etheria: Restart launches on June 5.

The long-lost co-op classic is coming back on modern platforms and Super NES!

The Nightmare Busters Rebirth Kickstarter Is Live

Back in the memorable year of 1995, a French developer called Arcade Zone toiled away on a Super Nintendo game called Nightmare Busters. Sadly, the arrival of the PlayStation led to the game's cancelation. It is now 100 years later, and that injustice is finally being corrected. Aurora Game Studio and Pix'n Love are teaming up to bring that long-lost game back on modern platforms as Nightmare Busters Rebirth. The Kickstarter is going strong already and will end on June 19.

Affected Steam Deck users are stuck with offline modes until D3 Publisher or Epic fixes things.

Oh no, Earth Defense Force 6's Online Co-op Has Stopped Working on Some Steam Decks

As loyal readers know, Earth Defense Force 6 is one of my very favorite games. My wife and I have collectively put hundreds of ours into it, mostly on the Steam Deck, Valve's portable gaming device. Many of those hours were spent in online co-op, a key selling point of the EDF series. Sadly, however, we can no longer play together fro...

This tiny foldable controller features a clever design and Hall Effect analog sticks.

The MCON Controller from Ohsnap! Is a Promising Accessory for Gaming on the Go

There are plenty of gaming controllers available for mobile phones. Folks love to play their emulators on the go, after all. How do you improve on the mobile controller solutions that are already out there? You add Hall Effect analog sticks, for starters, and then you design the controller to fold up and tuck away under the phone itself. That's what the MCON from Ohsnap! does, and it looks really sweet.

The update brings faster loading, crash fixes, and more to the bug blasting sci-fi shooter.

Earth Defense Force 6 Finally Gets an Update on Steam

I don't want to get too big for my britches or anything, but sometimes we games journalists have a lot of sway in the industry. For instance, we just published our Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 co-op review today, and on the very same day, D3 Publisher finally updates the Steam version of Earth Defense Force 6. Coincidence? I think not! The update fixes a killer crash that afflicted some AMD Radeon users, reduces load times, and more. You're welcome, EDF fans! ;)

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 - Co-op Review

Earth Defense Force spin-off games have been hit or miss. EDF: Insect Armageddon wasn’t much of a game, and EDF: Iron Rain was too tough for its own good. EDF: World Brothers, however, struck the right balance between new ideas and classic EDF gameplay – not to mention adding the fun of crossover characters and enemies from EDFs past. T...

The 2024 Co-Op Game of the Year Awards

It has been a while since we named our Co-op Games of the Year, but it’s time to bring it back, baby. This year, your fearless Surviving Editor (I’m not quite dead yet!) and other members of the Co-op Crew each selected a personal co-op game of the year. On top of that, we all picked a "Beyond Co-op" game of the year as well. ...
