BloodRayne: Betrayal Eyes-On at E3 2011

Bad news everyone!  BloodRayne: Betrayal is a single-player only affair.  We had speculated on a possible co-op mode due to some interesting allusions on the BloodRayne: Betrayal website.  There is some good news for you BloodRayne fans; the game looks great.  Designer/Director Sean Velasco played through some of the game for us.  The game had a fluidity to it that's hard to describe.  Velasco claimed that WayForward has lovingly crafted 4000 frames of animation for the sultry Dhampir.  I can't count that high while watching a demo, but I'll take his word for it.

As E3 approaches, the tidal wave of new game information is pouring out all over the internet.  Amid the onslaught comes news of a new Bloodrayne game, but different than the series' third person action roots.  Bloodrayne Betrayal is coming to XBLA and PSN, and it's a sweet looking 2D brawler.  The announcement trailer for the game, found at the game's official site, shows off a slick artistic style with over-the-top blood spurting all over the place.

Blood Rayne is Back

Majesco's Blood Rayne franchise is being resurrected as a downloadable title.  The company has recently announced Blood Rayne: Betrayal, which will be a 2D platformer, according to Eurogamer.net.  This will be change from what was a third-person action game filled with over-the-top gore and innuendo.  According to the press release,  "Rayne teams up with a mysterious new friend to stop an evil vampire massacre."  Does this mean co-op play?  Hopefully.  You can check out a new teaser trailer after the break.  Warning!  The trailer won't reveal much of anything.  Blood Rayne: Betrayal will release on the XBLA and PSN later this summer.
