How does the saying go? Better late than never?

The PlayStation 3 and ~~Wii~~ owners of the world well get their band on this Sunday, October 19th, when Rock Band 2 finally hits both platforms.

There's not much left to be said about the game that isn't already known. You get the same awesome 4 player cooperative experience. Over 80 songs out of the box, plus PlayStation 3 owners can play their previous DLC and Rock Band 1 songs!

In the meantime, here are some interesting articles regarding Rock Band 2 you may have missed.

Update: It appears the Wii version isn't coming out until December.

I believe it's just the PS3 version being released this weekend. Here's the release schedule from the official Harmonix announcement.
