The Co-Op Experience

Arena Commander currently offers three game modes: Pirate Swarm, Vanduul Swarm and Free Flight. While the letter is just a sandbox allowing up to 16 players to test ships and explore the universe without much gameplay, the swarm modes pit up to four players against either a squadron of pirates or Vanduul ships.

In the persistent universe in theory up to 50 players can party up and go do missions together. In reality this is not really supported, yet as well as ships with multiple crew members. You can form a party and help others on missions but only the one doing the mission will get actual credit.

Description

Star Citizen is an open world space combat game where players build and buy ships, trade goods, combat pirates, and play in arcade style arenas for fun. The game will feature FPS ground combat, co-op space ships, and a huge persistent open world. It's raised it's entire budget through crowd funding to the tune of over 50 million dollars.
