Q-Games has been making a name for themselves as a developer that creates games that are a little bit different than the usual.  PixelJunk Eden, for example, put you in control of a little creature called a Grimp, whose goal was to make gardens grow by swinging about a psychedelic landscape looking for Spectra.  Their latest game, PixelJunk Shooter, puts you in command of a ship that is out to rescue trapped miners.  Of course, it’s not as easy as just flying through a tunnel and picking the miners up along the way; devious enemies, pools of lava, and cooling lakes of water turns what should be a simple rescue mission into a wonderful co-op experience.

There's a new video from the San Diego Comic-Con show floor that shows Pixel Junk's next co-op creation called Pixel Junk Shooter.

 The video shows the basic concepts of the game, players control a ship through caverns filled with dangerous lava and other objects in an effort to rescue people.  Using the enviornment you'll navigate around, breaking rock and using lava to melt through seemingly impassible paths.  

There's no co-op on display in the video, but it gives you a good idea of how the game plays.  The animations and look are very pleasing to the eye.

The above screenshot doesn't do Pixel Junk Shooter any justice, but the below video I'd say gives you a better idea of just how beautiful the game is.  The latest in the Pixel Junk series from Q Games, Shooter tasks players with exploring underground caverns filled with lava, water, and dangerous enemies.  

The game is going to support two players in co-op when it ships this fall.  The co-op mode is detailed over at the PlayStation Blog, and it sounds like it's going to be a ton of fun.

The Pixel Junk team has announced their next PlayStation Network game, one that was previously named Pixel Junk 1-4, has gotten a name and will be getting an upcoming demo.  After taking fan entries, and receiving almost 10,000 of them, the official name of the game is Pixel Junk Shooter.  

The previous Pixel Junk games, including Monsters and Eden, are no strangers to co-op.  So it's with great delight that we can announce that Shooter will continue the tradition offering co-op play!
