If you loathe gigantic aliens which strongly resemble larger versions of mundane earth insects, (and also you have a thing against robots), then you'll finally be able to satisfy your thirst for destruction with Earth Defense Force 2025, launching February 18th. Take control of the titular Earth Defense Force and defend humanity against the threat of alien extinction. Grab some friends, load up your cybernetic samurai gear, and prepare to repel the insect/robot alliance.
Earth Defense Force 2025 drops with the Special Ops bundle, adding five new missions. If one opts to get the vanilla version, the Special Ops DLC will be available at launch for $2.99. The second DLC, Mutant Rampage, drops on February 25th. It adds 20 new missions and retails for $8.99. The final piece of DLC, Beyond Despair, hits March 11, adding another 20 new missions and running for $8.99.
Billed as an "action shooter bonanza" by the developer, 2025 seems like the psychedelic daydreams of a technophile after drinking entirely too much Red Bull at an anime convention. But, you know, whatever. If the year 2025 comes around and we can all hop into crazy robot suits like these, I'm totally down. Although, I don't think I've got the moxy to use them to take on fire ants the size of double decker buses.
