Secret Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel news alert! With the release of the Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack DLC, a tiny little future update was mentioned off-hand by Gearbox Software. Alongside the official DLC releases, some free updates are also in the works, including Ultimate Vault Hunter mode for those who are truly dedicated to shooting all the things.
Released in early November, the Handsome Jack pack is the first of four scheduled pieces of DLC planned for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. If you bought the Season Pass this is the first chunk of that, otherwise you'll need to nab it separately. Next on the release list are things like a campaign add-on, another character, a level cap increase, and some extra items to fool around with. Fingers crossed for a raid boss stuffed somewhere in there, too.
For the "free updates to the game" that are "currently in the works", not much was mentioned beyond Ultimate Vault Hunter. The mode was part of Borderlands 2 as a tier above True Vault Hunter mode and allowed players to play through the game a third time with leveled-up enemies, bosses and loot. Also, if there is a god, you'll be able to turn off Tiny Tina's terrible commentary on the story narration. We're assuming UVHM won't hit until after the level cap is raised, but we could be wrong. Campaign progress will also be able to be reset at any time after the free update.
