Deathwish Enforcers Gets a New Trailer, Preorders Open March 31

Sunset Riders meets Dirty Harry in this upcoming arcade-style game for PlayStation and Switch.

Deathwish Enforcers is an upcoming run-and-gun shooter from Monster Bath Games that looks incredible. Inspired by the co-op classic, Sunset Riders, this one pits four cops against the forces of evil in a gritty, exaggerated version of 1969 San Francisco. The game's second trailer provides some new details, and we've also learned that Limited Run Games will open up physical preorders on March 31.

The game comes from Monster Bath Studios, a Canadian indie made up of some of the same people who worked on Battle Princess Madelyn (one of my favorite Ghosts N' Goblins-style games). It stars four hardboiled, hard drinking cops (all homages to action movie heroes) with unique stats and plenty of firepower. The team will work together to bring down a crime syndicate run by Big Boss X. Along the way, they'll engage in plenty of run-and-gun battles against both human and supernatural villains, auto-scrolling motorcycle levels, and outlandish bosses.

Deathwish Enforcers

Features:

  • 7 levels of arcade shooting mayhem!
  • 4 elite squad members to choose from!
  • Power up your weapon or destroy enemies with a special!
  • Interrupt a porn shoot!
  • Up to 4 player local co-op
  • Simplistic pick-up-and-play arcade action!
  • Get funked by the master of retro audio, Gryzor87!!

Monster Bath is a developer that really gets classic games and what made them special - while also displaying a unique and dark sense of humor. Deathwish Enforcers' outrageous style, gorgeous pixel art, and 4-player co-op are all very good reasons to be excited, even if the publisher really needs to share more screenshots and gameplay details.

Limited Run Games will be publishing Deathwish Enforcers both physically and digitally on PlayStation and Switch. Digital pricing is not available yet, but we do know the physical prices. Standard limited editions will sell for $34.99, whereas the "Classic Editions" will go for $64.99.

Included in the Classic Editions are:

  • Oversized Retro-Styled Clamshell Case
  • Deathwish Enforcers Original Soundtrack
  • Character Art Cards
  • Badge Pin
