Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for September 2023

We did a thing...

I'm sure many of you know the saying "Never change a running system". And it is still great advice. But sometimes you are forced to change. Like for example when your hoster wants to decommission the old hardware and switch you over to a new server. In theory nothing special and even beneficial. Yes, it was a bit unfortunate that we had to make that merge during the week of Tokyo Games Show since the Database Master couldn't do any work during that time. But on 9/23 everything was moved over and he was able to clear the backlog in a couple of hours. All seemed good at the end of the day.

Then on 9/25 he wrote a simple message to our beloved Nick Puleo: "Something went wrong". And something had indeed gone wrong. Our database didn't handle the software upgrade as gracefully as we expected and basically everything stopped working in the backend. No new entries were possible, existing ones couldn't be updated and even writing this news post was out of the question.

Thankfully almost a week after the problem began, Nick may have finally squashed all the bugs (including one being in the code for years) and the Database Master can finally return to his duties. It will take a bit to get through the backlog but we're sure he'll work 24/7 to get it done. After all: He knows what fate awaits him if he tries to slacks off...

As a result our database may not be so up to date currently. But if you take a look below you'll still find a ton of stuff to look through. So get gamin'!
