Tonight we lay to rest the worlds first broad band gaming service for consoles. Microsoft is flipping the switch on Xbox Live for the original Xbox, thereby killing access to dozens of games with online modes that nobody plays anymore.
While online co-op wasn't very prevelant on the original Xbox there are a few titles that will be missed. Games like Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Conflict: Global Terror, or Serious Sam 2 won't be playable online.
Of course the game that will be missed the most is Halo 2, a game that still has an active community online. Bungie is having a big party online, inviting everyone that can to play. If you do you'll earn yourself a unique emblem in Halo Reach when it comes out.
Hopefully this will yield a greater fall update to the system, allowing friends lists with more than 100 people, clan support, and a myriad of other features people have been clamoring for.
