Back in June, Atari announced that paid DLC for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration was in the works, along with an Expanded Edition that will bundle the original collection and DLC. At last, that DLC is close to being released. it's coming out on September 26, and it's called "The Wider World of Atari." Atari is too cool to reveal the games that will be included just yet, but we're crossing our fingers for some co-op titles anyway.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration launched way back in 2022, celebrating the history of Atari with documentary content and a huge collection of retro games. Late last year, the collection received 12 new games in an update. At the time, Atari and Digital Eclipse promised more content would be coming. Today, we've finally learned how that content will take shape: in the form of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition, a new edition with even more documentary content and games.

A few days ago, Atari announced a major update for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. This came as a surprise because the collection has already been out for a year, but it seems that Atari has a series of content updates planned for it. The first such free update arrived this week and adds 12 games to the collection, including 11 Atari 2600 titles and one Atary Lynx game (yay!).

Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection is a massive collection of games and bonus content from Atari and Digital Eclipse. The collection already boasts over 100 classic games, 9 of which are co-op, but it's about to get even bigger. On December 5, the free "Holiday Content" update will add 12 more games. What's more, Atari plans to release more updates in the future.
