What's more eye-catching than a cardboard rectangle?

Our Weekend In Gaming: Tabletop Stimulator

The Co-Opticrew is reaching into our usual bag of tricks this weekend, with co-op shlooters and co-op sloopers taking up a fair amount of our time.  What's this, though?  It appears a few of our esteemed staff are also diving back into the realm of wooden tokens and translucent card sleeves for a couple days of board game goodness.  We can only wish these adventurous souls (and their wallets) the best of luck.  They'll certainly need it.

For Castleton!

Our Weekend In Gaming: Time Chasers

Once again, the inexorable march of time has ferried us to another weekend, and instead of dwelling on our own mortality, the Co-Opticrew has chosen to distract ourselves with - you guessed it - video games.  All things considered, it's not a bad way to go about spending our time.  Who knows what we'd be up to if not for co-op games?  We could be obsessing over far-fetched conspiracy theories or, even worse, mumble rap.  The mind shudders at the thought.

Another weekend bounty.

Our Weekend In Gaming: #Blessed

We have been blessed with another appearance by everyone's favorite duo: Saturday and Sunday.  In accordance with Co-Opticrew tradition, we offer our plans to the ether in the hope that they shall be fulfilled.  Will they, though?  I suppose that's up to us.  As the old saying goes, "The Weekend helps those who help themselves."

Your next-gen headset

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Wireless Headset Review

By my count, we are approaching close to 100 headsets evaluated on this site in our 13 years of existence. Needless to say we've seen all makes, models, and varieties - from wired stereo headsets to fully wireless surround sound monsters. I'm at the point now where I know exactly what features I want to hear in a pair of cans for my ears. And let me tell you - the perfect headset still doesn't seem to exist.

Back and better than ever.

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Return

We're back with another jaw-dropping edition of (say it with me) Our! Weekend! In! Gaming!  I know I abandoned our poor readers in their time of need, but believe me, it was (probably) worth the wait.  Refreshed and re-energized, the Co-Opticrew is roaring into 2021 with a frankly staggering amount of games they'll be playing over the weekend.  If this doesn't get you pumped up for your own plans, then frankly, you may want to consult a medical professional.

The Database Manager has been busy.

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for January, 2021

According to our highly accurate counter we've hit a new milestone in January: There are now 7.600 entries in our database. But while this number is very impressive - there are still some holes here and there. Of course no one can ever be perfect - even your No. 1 site for co-op games. Our Database Manager does however try his best. For example the last two months he went through the entire Nintendo eShop catalogue all the way back to 2011 and added every last co-op games from it we were missing (and many more he found during this research). The results are more than 400 new entries to the Database in January including more obscure franchises like the Super Chinese-Beat-'em-up-series. Don't worry though if you prefer your games to be from this century: January was also packed with quite a few new releases as you can see below.

Is 2020 gone, yet?!

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for December, 2020

We can remember the old days when December was THE time to go through our backlog. No new releases to hog our attention - just tons of games to finally play during the school break. Thanks to the digital revolution with no need to have an open retail store this has obviously changed. There were even new co-op releases on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! All in all our database saw an increase of 130 new entries this month - including all titles from the Space Invaders-Franchise offering co-op modes. So what are you waiting for? Go play some co-op games with your family and friends!

Booty is in the eye of the beholder.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Raid Lyfe

The Co-Opticrew is on the lookout for things to pillage this weekend.  We don't care if it's enemy ships, antagonistic aliens, or our own dreamscapes.  If there's loot to be had, we're on the case.  What will we do with said loot?  Probably just ogle it for a while until something better comes along, if we're being honest.  C'est la vie.

A good mid-tier offering with a few drawbacks

ASTRO A20 Gen 2 Review

ASTRO debuted its first A20 (Gen 1) wireless headset three years ago as a mid-tier alternative to the pricier A50. As the gaming industry prepared for the launch of the current gen consoles (PS5 and Series X), so, too, did ASTRO; this past October they launched the Gen 2 version of the A20 wireless headset, which touts a couple new features over the Gen 1 while still maintaining that mid-tier pricing.

Anything can happen.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Snow Day

It's getting mighty chilly around Co-Optimus HQ.  If things get any worse, we may be forced to take a few days off and wait for the routes to clear between our bedrooms and... our other bedrooms.  There's no telling what could happen if we tried to commute in these conditions, so it's probably better to play it safe.

Too much to handle!

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for November, 2020

Not only did the Next Console Generation(TM) finally hit the shelves last month - there were so many games with some kind of co-op feature released that our release date calendar couldn't keep up any more and stopped displaying them. Don't worry though: Our elves in the server mines are of course working hard on the problem. In the meantime check below to see if you might have missed something interesting. The database on the other hand saw an addition of over 185 entries of all shapes and sizes. Dig in!
