We would have called it Co-oplunky, but that's just us.

Modder Adds Online Co-Op to Spelunky Classic

Old-style Spelunky plus online co-op sounds like a grand idea! A modder by the name of Vadim has been toying with Spelunky Classic's source code for a few months, backporting features from its bigger, brighter brother Spelunky HD. The best feature is actually new to the series: online-enabled co-op play for two players, all for the nice price of free!

Spelunky Heads to the PS4

The more Spelunky is in our lives, the better. Apparently the folks at Sony agree with me, and have announced the challenging cave-diving game for the Playstation 4. Now, PS4 owners can enjoy the miracle that is Spelunky on their own machines. Is there anything better than being trapped in a cave at the mercy of ancient traps, colossal spiders, and easily enraged merchants armed with shotguns? That's the recipe for fun right there.

Death is only the beginning...

Mossmouth Announces Spelunky's Arrival on PS3 and PS Vita

It's obvious that most video games aren’t quite as challenging these days, even at their highest difficulty setting. Certain games that make players throw their controllers out the window surely stand out from the rest, and that’s why Spelunky is such a highly addictive game. PlayStation fans will be happy to know that their versions of Spelunky will be arriving on the PlayStation Network this summer.

Live your dream of spelunking as an eskimo

Spelunky Sneaks Two New DLC Packs onto XBLA

So, Spelunky right? The roguelike platformer by Derek Yu was first released back in 2008, but the enhanced 2012 version for XBLA is the one that really put the game on the map. While everyone was all PlayStation 4 this and Sony that, two DLC packs were quietly released for Spelunky. The Explorers pack adds eight new playable characters, including an eskimo, robot, viking, cyclops, and ninja. The Arenas pack introduces 24 new deathmatch maps, which we don't need to remind you how awesome that is for multiplayer.

New Trailer for Spelunky Features 4 Player Co-Op

Spelunky debuted as a single player, pixilated freeware game a few years ago.  It will soon be making a jump to the big leagues, and by big leagues, I mean the Xbox Live Arcade.  Okay, so not necessarily the majors, but hey, at least now people will have to pay for it.  The XBLA title will feature hi-res, hand painted graphics, a new soundtrack, and best of all, 4 player local co-op (or deathmatch).

Spelunky Moves To XBLA, Introduces 4-player Mode In The Switch-up

The very successful, though single-player title, indie game Spelunky from the PC will be making the much anticipated shift to the consoles. Spelunky is a puzzle platformer that takes place in caves, featuring a spelunker. The title has received a lot of attention, and been recently announced on the Xbox LIVE Arcade. During GDC 2011 a few websites noticed a screens that showed multiple players in the game.
