Splosion Man Patch Coming Soon, Twisted Pixel Reveals Comic Jumper

Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo September 5th, 2009 at 10:47 AM

As we noted in our review of Splosion Man for the Xbox Live Arcade, there was some issues with lag while playing online.  It seemed over time the game got de-sync'd and eventually would render it almost unplayable.   Good news as Twisted Pixel's Josh Bear confirmed to me today at PAX 2009 that a patch for the game is in certification and that it should fix these issues that have been plaguing it.

Josh also snuck us a sneak peak at their upcoming game called Comic Jumper.  The platformer puts you in the role of a super hero who can jump in and out of different comic books, adjusting is style depending on the art style of the comic he's in.  The trailer is absolutely hilarious and we suggest you give it a watch.  No official word on co-op, but we've been told to keep a close eye on it!

that looks pretty damn funny... do you think this will have BYOB co-op? P2 could control the dude on his chest somehow. what does he do anyway (other than color commentary)?

LOL that was a nice vid...but since I haven't tried Explosion Man, I'm not sure about whether I'd like this.

Yeah that's funny and changing art style may be cool.. but still I have some doubts if this will be a great game.

Loved 'Splosion Man, so I'm looking forward to the new game. This one looks just as good based on the trailer (Like the art style idea!), but I didn't like The Maw, so. . . Demo first for me, just to be safe.

Also, 'Splosion Man patch = Awesome news. I can't wait for that.

That trailer looks fantastic. These guys have been the most impressive new developer I've seen this year.

Good to see that another developer is actually supporting their games when they've got showstopper bugs. And Comic Jumper sounds pretty good. I hope it does better than that similarly-themed game Return of Matt Hazard.

Splosion man rocks, hopefully I'll be able to finish the coop now.

I really need to get Splosion man and the Maw. Comic Jumper looks good to me also.

I agree with Tasark. Its got a bit of humor, but not enough from this to really get me interested.

Comic Jumper looks cool, but I would have liked to have seen more gameplay. From what was there, it looked really dynamic. It looked like he took a shot in the direction of the player, and that was a pretty cool effect.

I liked the humor as well. I'll want to see more gameplay footage.

Great idea!

What a bizarre character design. A smiley face ball on top of a super hero muscle body with a scowling star on his chest? Huh?

I agree about the trailer, great third wall humor, hope to play it soon and co-op would be appreciated.

Thought I throw this question on here for different opinions, and if it was discussed already, then what's been your opinion lat
I'm tempted to get Halo 3: ODST and perhaps Halo 3 so I don't have to rent them any more.Hmmm choices....
