Toast to J.R.R. Tolkien's Birthday with Free LOTR: War in the North T-Shirts

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Today is January 3rd, a day in which famed author of the Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien, would have turned 119 years old.  Every year it is a tradition amongst fans to celebrate by toasting to this man for his great literary works and creating a fictional universe loved by millions of people.

The folks over at Warner Bros wanted to help us out with that tradition by sending over our own little toasting set - sorry folks there's no alcohol here.  Lucky for you, our fine hobbits of the Co-Optimus community, they also threw in some exclusive The Lord of the Rings: War in the North T-Shirts to give away too!

All you need to do to win one is reply to this thread and tell us your favorite drink.  Winners will be drawn on Friday, January 7th.  Standard contest rules apply.

Has anyone ever toasted to Tolkien?  If so - please share!

Hmm, favorite drink?
Jack and coke with a maraschino cherry, certain beers too.
But lately it has been White Russians maid with Kahlua Especial.

Think I might watch or play some Lord of the Rings tonight.

Irish Car Bombs are good. Bailey's Irish Cream and Jamison's Irish whiskey mixed in a shot glass, then dropped into a glass of Guinness stout. Tastes an awful lot like chocolate milk! ^_^

The same that Warner Bros, J.R.R. Tolkien 2011 toast does Sheffield Cider. I did toast yesterday (last night)using the Sheffield Vintage Dry.

--- Replying to valdan -----Wow, my mind has been blown. Definitely going to ask for one of those next time I'm at my local Irish pub (only spot with Guinness on tap in my town).

---

I can honestly say I prefer beer over most liquor and mixed drinks. With that in mind, my (current) favourite beer is Rickard's White; a Canadian white wheat ale made with coriander and orange peel, usually served in a pint-glass garnished with slice of orange. It may sound a bit girly—I thought as much when I first saw it poured—but it is very tasty (and to those who care, it has a higher alcohol concentration than comparable beers).

The runner up is a recently discovered beer my friend introduced me to over Christmas: Fuller's London Porter. It edged-out my favourite locally brewed dark beer (which is still very good and easier to come by ), Gahan Ironhorse Brown.

Cheers!
