Burnout Paradise Davis Update is Live

Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin September 18th, 2008 at 12:24 PM

Criterion Games has announced on their blog that the Burnout Paradise free update originally codenamed "Davis" is now available on the Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

With it, you get:

  • Pick from 2 motorcycles featuring male or female characters and start on a whole new progression to earn your Bike License.
  • 38 new against-the-clock race events – Burning Ride and Midnight Ride.
  • A brand new in-game 24 hr day / night cycle that impacts traffic density and available events.  (It's fully customisable – you can make it day/night/change the clock speed – it's up to you.)
  • Dynamic weather brings an all-new look to Paradise City
  • And if that's not enough, we've got 70 more Freeburn Challenges too

The update clocks in at 445 MB for Xbox 360, and 120 MB for Playstation 3 (thanks, Rogue_hunter!).  Of course there's plenty of co-op challenges to be had in the game, and with 70 more hopefully there are some new unique ones.

The free goodies just keep coming!

this came a little late, traded my copy in, and not worth re-purchasing to get. Good to hear they're still supporting the title tho.

The update was only 120 MB on the ps3, but the Cagney update was 355 MB.

New challenges, as well as new "achievements" are great. And for bikes, there is a whole new license. Not as many events required for it though.

Anyone been able to test the night stuff yet, that should look pretty cool.

It gets dark. Like, really REALLY dark. Hard to see much of anything. Not too many street lights + not too many cars on the roads at night = not many landmarks to sight in. Not bad in a car, but hairy when on a bike.

Bikes are totally awesome, and there's entirely new road rules, events and achievements. The events are even broken up into daytime and nighttime events, as are the road rules.

I like the bike animations and control. It's extremely well done, and just adds another dimension to an already robust game.

This site is so awesome. Im glad to be able to help reach that 2500 goal! I will definitely be telling friends about it.
More games should definitely incorporate co-op. Its not always enough to run around and shoot up teams or compete in a free-for-
My friend and I played some Resistance- Fall of Man tonight. Hopefully we will be getting Dark Kingdom for the PS3 by tomorrow s

How is the replay value of it?
Has anyone played this game yet? I played the demo, and it reminded me somewhat of "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" from the Genesis b
Unfortunately, no co-op. I wasnt impressed with it either. I bought it on a whim at Gamestop for like $15.00 used, and I am not
