If you've been following Insomniac's Resistance Fall of Man 2 at all, you know the game is going to feature a highly ambitious online component. For starters, the developers are promising online multiplayer supporting 60 players. But perhaps the most ambitious mode of the game will be a full story based 8 Player cooperative mode. The folks at MTV sat down with Insomniac Games president Ted Price to discuss their grand plans.
Multiplayer: So, people read the Game Informer story [about “Resistance 2″]. People don’t believe the Game Informer story. Because that’s insane amount of content to put into one game. We’re talking about a full-fledged campaign, eight player –
Price: Online co-cop.
Multiplayer: Online co-op, which is a campaign…
Price: One secret about that: it has a story that drives it along and is parallel to the single-player campaign. It is not as in-depth as the single-player campaign. Obviously we’re not going to do the same sort of movies that we do with “Resistance 2″ single-player campaign. I want to make sure that’s clear.
I really hope this works. An 8 Player Co-Op campaign? That's going to be insane. Insanely GOOD!
Now I could just find 8 friends online on the PS3 at the same time...
