Dead Space 3 supports two player online co-op.

How do I join a co-op game in Dead Space 3?

You can jump into a friend’s open game or search for a public quick match from the main menu. Or you can simply accept a friend’s invite at any time. You will not be able to join another player’s game until they reach a checkpoint or restart their current checkpoint.

 

How do you begin a co-op session in Dead Space 3?

You can invite a friend or open a public game from the main menu. You may also invite a friend at any time from the in-game menu. The second player won’t be able to join you until you reach the next checkpoint, or you can restart the checkpoint you are currently playing through.

 

How does save game progress work for co-op play in Dead Space 3?

Both players save file contains information from the last uninterrupted point in the story, and their last save game. There is also a chapter select option.

 

Can I join a game if the host is further along than me in Dead Space 3?

Yes. You will unlock those chapters and can skip anything you missed if you so choose.

 

How are player inventories saved in Dead Space 3?

Players inventories, (weapons, item, resources) are automatically saved to their profile whenever they quit a game. You keep everything in your inventory after each co-op session.

 

What happens when a co-op player leaves a game?

The player is returned to the last completed checkpoint.

 

Can co-op players share survival items (Med Kits, Ammo, and Stasis Packs)?

Yes. Players easily can give each other Med Kits, Ammo, and Stasis Pack via the RIG inventory system.

 

Can co-op players share resources?

No. co-op players cannot share resources (the raw materials used for weapon crafting).

 

Can co-op players share weapons in Dead Space 3?

Can co-op players share weapon blueprints?

Yes. Players can share custom weapon blueprints with each other, but each player needs their own respective resources to build it.
