Join Extra Life and Help Covid-19 Relief

Kids need us now more than ever

Every year I invite Co-Optimus staff and readers to pitch in and help kids through Extra Life. The charity benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and brings in millions each year. It's a fun way for gamers to unite and do good in the world. This year, with the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping the US, our children's hospitals need even more support. Here's your opportunity to pitch in and help.

For the past six months, hospitals have been scrambling to gather the resources they need to treat kids who are sick with Covid-19, on top of all the "normal" health issues they see every year. That means more medicine, more equipment, more staffed beds, and more budget strapped families in need of assistance. It is estimated that children's hospitals have lost an average of $67 million per month during this pandemic. This is where we can help.

This year is Co-Optimus' 9th year participating in Extra Life, and we'd love for you to be a part of the team. All we ask is that you sign up, and raise donations using whatever means you have available. Ask friends, family, co-workers, or viewers of your streaming channels. Once you're signed up, the Extra Life webpage makes it extremely easy to set up a Facebook fundraiser to help spread the word.

We're planning on streaming most of the day on November 7th, which is Extra Life's official Game Day celebration. You can join us on that day, pick your own day, or just play whenever you want. We just ask that you do your best to raise the much-needed funds for the kids.

If you aren't interested in participating as a team member, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Head on over to our team page, pick someone on our roster, and fill in the essential billing info. We are extremely grateful for donations of any amount!

On Game Day (November 7th), be sure to stop by the Co-Optimus Twitch channel to hang out with us while we stream all kinds of co-op games. We'd love the company, so we hope to see you then!
