Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the most exciting Kirby games in years. That's partially because of the game's beautiful, ruined new world and partially because of its excellent 2-player local co-op. However, the main reason The Forgotten Land is so exciting is because it introduces Kirby's best-ever form: Carby. What's a Carby? Check out this screenshot gallery for a good look.
In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the titular hero gains a new ability called Mouthful Mode. This allows him to swallow extra-large objects like stairs, vending machines, and cars. "Carby" is the first of these new forms, and clearly the best. Kirby gets to cruise around as a car, dashing at high speed to run over enemies and break down walls. When playing as Carby in co-op, the second player will automatically grab on for a ride while the first player hits the road. Check out our guide to learn how to unlock co-op.
Our screenshot gallery shows the highlights of Kirby's first transformation into Carby from beginning to (tearful) end. Even Kirby's gotta go fast!
Kirby and the Forgotten Land sells for $59.99 on Switch at Amazon and the eShop. We'll have a full Co-op review soon. If you can't wait that long, be sure to download the free demo!
