The Ninja Turtles are experiencing a gaming renaissance at present, with several games released last year, TMNT: Splintered Fate just arriving on PlayStation and coming soon on Xbox, the (shamefully single-player) TMNT: Tactical Takedown recently released on Steam, and TMNT: The Last Ronin coming at some point in the future. We can now add one more to the list: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City from Cortopia Studios and Beyond Frames Entertainment. It will be the first TMNT virtual reality game, and it's due out next year.
Details are scant at present, but here's the official word from the game's Steam page:
In the vacuum left by Shredder's demise, the Foot Clan's grip tightens on the streets you once called home. It’s time to reclaim what's yours. Don the mask of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, or Michelangelo in the first ever Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VR game.
- Master each Turtle's signature weapon with precision strikes and blocks in this first-person action adventure.
- Scale urban landscapes with fluid parkour
- Confront fan-favorite villains
- Forge your own chapter in the TMNT legacy, solo or play co-op with up to three friends.
As a Meta Quest owner, I'm certainly eager for some virtual reality co-op with the heroes in a half shell. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord was fun! You can wishlist TMNT: Empire City now on Steam and Meta Quest.
