It's the year of the Ninja Turtles, with not one, not two, but three TMNT games coming out in 2024. The second of those titles is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, which has just arrived on Switch courtesy of Super Evil Megacorp. Splintered Fate is the first Turtles roguelite, and it features 4-player local and online play. We've spent some time in co-op in order to bring you these detailed impressions.

Ever since Outright Games announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, the game based on the recent animated movie, we've wondered what it would play like. This one isn't a beat 'em up, after all. Thanks to the release of the game's first animated trailer, we can finally see what the action will be like. Mutants Unleashed will feature 2-player local co-op, and it's coming to consoles and PC in October. 

TMNT games nearly always feature co-op, and the best of them have both local and online co-op to boot. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate for Switch was initially announced as only having online co-op, but Super Evil Megacorp, the developer, has finally revealed that the game will have 4-player local co-op too! What's more, Splintered Fate will be heading to Steam after the July release of the Switch version.

Super Evil Megacorp's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is the first roguelike to feature the TMNT. After first appearing on Apple Arcade (yuck!), it's now heading to Switch. After a period of Apple Arcade exclusivity, Super Evil Megacorp's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is riding the timed exclusivity train onto Nintendo Switch. The top-down roguelike features a great 2D visual style, an authentic comic book-style storyline, and 4-player online co-op. The Turtles will be splintering fates on Switch this July.

Last year, Outright Games announced that it would be creating a game based on TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, the hit animated movie. However, the publisher known for its licensed games revealed absolutely no other details at the time: not the title, the player count, or anything. This year, perhaps inspired by Game Mill's recent TMNT game announcement, Outright has finally revealed that their game will be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, and it will support 2-player local co-op.

Arcades might have dwindled in the United States, but they still exist. Companies like Raw Thrills even make new arcade games such as 2017's TMNT arcade game. Seven years later, Game Mill is releasing that game onto consoles and PC as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants. It will support 4-player local co-op, and it's due in late April.
